On Jan. 21, the Oklahoma City Council accepted the Oklahoma City Parks Master Plan and it is now included in the city's comprehensive plan, planokc. We were pleased to partner with several city departments to fund and participate in the development of the Parks Master Plan. Later that same day we hosted a luncheon presentation by Peter Harnik, a national expert on creating great park systems. His presentation, "Great Parks for OKC: The Time Is Now" provided a glimpse into what is possible for our own parks system. If you were able to join us, thank you.
If you were unable to attend, we wanted to let you know that we have made the Parks Master Plan and an executive summary available online. We encourage everyone to share the link with individuals and organizations you believe would be interested in learning more about the current status of our existing parks system and review the recommended action steps to creating a great parks system that will benefit all Oklahoma City residents. You can find the documents athttp://occf.org/okcparksplan.html.
We look forward to keeping you up to date on our efforts regarding the Oklahoma City Parks Foundation and the implementation of a Model Park Program and anticipate having news to share some time this spring.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to contact either Brian Dougherty or Sally Ray in our offices at 405/235-5603.
Again, thank you for your interest in our community.
