We have been collaborating with Sequoyah Neighborhood Association concerning two areas:  a) Sidewalks along Penn. Ave. b) Revitalization of NW 39th and Penn. Area.  Both seem to be a high priority for Councilman Shadid.  If anyone is interested in attending the meetings concerning the revitalization of NW 39th, the beginning stages of planning are underway and I'd be happy to forward the information.

In addition, we have been working closely with the newly formed HP consortium for solutions to ongoing dilemmas HP Districts share and ways to celebrate our historic heritage together.  As a matter of fact, Shepherd Historic will soon be featured alongside the other HP Districts on the HP Bus Tour (click for more info).

Save the Date: May 18th 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (HP Bus Tour)

Let's all put forth our best effort to show off our neighborhood!

Finally, two more neighborhood events that will be upcoming in June include our Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale and our Annual Ice Cream Social.  We will be placing an Ad in the paper, as well as Internet media for the garage sale, however each participant is responsible for getting the necessary permit.  The Ice Cream Social is tentatively set for the evening of June 20th.

Save the Date:  June 8-9th (Garage Sale)

Neighborhood Alliance, OKC Beautiful and The Alliance for Economic Development are pleased to feature the OKC Historic Preservation neighborhoods on this year's Beautification Station
bus tour.

Your $5 non-refundable donation gets you a seat on one of our air-conditioned chartered buses that will spin you through OKC's finely preserved residential jewels, complete with live commentary.

After touring and disembarking the bus at several locations for an up-close look and insights from neighborhood leaders, we'll return to our starting point where you'll be treated to a delicious lunch provided by Panera Bread Company.

Come join us!
