Greetings Neighbors,

We just finished our Board Meeting and I wanted to update everyone on a couple of things:
  • Neighborhood Flyers will be delivered to you sometime in Mid-March, so be on the look out.
  • Mark your calendars:  Chili/Dessert Cook-Off will take place at the Baptist Temple (30th & Villa) on March 27th from 6pm-8pm
    • The Association will provide Fritos, cheese, forks, bowls, napkins, cups, and refreshments
    • Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place!
  • Please email me if you would like to nominate someone to serve on the Executive Board of Directors, as we will have Annual Elections in conjunction with the Chili/Dessert Cook-off
    • President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer are the four seats available for nomination.
  • Aluminum cast Plaques are available and we will be submitting a neighborhood order in April, so click here if you would like to order one (Example & instructions provided through link)
  • The Neighborhood Garage Sale will be held June 6, 7,&8th this year.  Shepherd will advertise and you will be responsible for obtaining a City permit (good for 3 days), so start hoarding up your hidden treasures!

Dear Craig:

On Jan. 21, the Oklahoma City Council accepted the Oklahoma City Parks Master Plan and it is now included in the city's comprehensive plan, planokc. We were pleased to partner with several city departments to fund and participate in the development of the Parks Master Plan. Later that same day we hosted a luncheon presentation by Peter Harnik, a national expert on creating great park systems. His presentation, "Great Parks for OKC: The Time Is Now" provided a glimpse into what is possible for our own parks system. If you were able to join us, thank you.

If you were unable to attend, we wanted to let you know that we have made the Parks Master Plan and an executive summary available online. We encourage everyone to share the link with individuals and organizations you believe would be interested in learning more about the current status of our existing parks system and review the recommended action steps to creating a great parks system that will benefit all Oklahoma City residents. You can find the documents athttp://occf.org/okcparksplan.html.

We look forward to keeping you up to date on our efforts regarding the Oklahoma City Parks Foundation and the implementation of a Model Park Program and anticipate having news to share some time this spring.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to contact either Brian Dougherty or Sally Ray in our offices at 405/235-5603.

Again, thank you for your interest in our community.
